PAS Astronomy Class

Pokhara Astronomical Society successfully conducted its first approach to school students. PAS in association with 'Bhadrakali Science club' conducted the "PAS Astronomy Class" orientation programme about astronomy and space science in Bhadrakali Higher Secondary School, Kundhar, Pokhara-13.

Mr. Suman Gautam, science teacher of same school, gave presentation in the topic "Solar System'. He introduced "Mars Mission" and "Curiosity Rover" among the students and personnel of the school family. 

Mr. Mahesh Thakuri, invited guest from PAS, presented the slides on the topic "Telescope & Galaxy". He talked about the different type of Galaxies and possibilities of life in Extra-Solar Planets. He also informed about only observatory in Nepal situated in Nagarkot, Bhaktapur, Nepal.

Chief guest Mr. Ghan Shyam Rijal, principal of school, said that the program was very effective in inspiring  the students and to encourage them to be a scientist in future. Students actively participated and interacted with the presenters with their various queries about the astronomy and galaxy.  

   Mr.  Bishwo Mitra Sapkota, from Bhadrakali  Science Club, hosted the programme and thanked to PAS for performing  very important presentations and wished for more such programme in coming days. 

 More than fifty students observed the sky at 6.30pm 
with an ETX-90Meade telescope.Sky observation program was conducted up to 8 pm.

 
 The crater of moon was clearly viewed,and the primary and the secondary ages of student had participated in that observation program.
