United Nations Austria Symposium 2014

Nepal had a successful participation in United Nations/ Austria Symposium on “ Space Science and the United Nations”  Co-sponsored by European Space Agency  (ESA), Committee on Space Research (COSPAR), Austrian  Academy of Science, City of Graz, Austrospace , state of Styria,  Austrian Ministry for Transport Innovation and Technology from 22-24th September 2014. More than 50 participants, from 40 countries had participated on Symposium highlighted on arrays of topics on, Space Science activities and the possible role of United Nations. Suman Gautam from Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO) and Pokhara Astronomical Society (PAS) had presented his paper on the examples of space science capacity buildings activities conducted in Nepal .The Symposium was concluded by discussing on the future space science activities in the framework of United Nations. All symposium participants had review the symposium and recommend a report for the implementation of future space science activities, which is discussed on the UN General Assembly on February 2105.The symposium was chaired by Werner Balogh from United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs.
